Parent & Guardian Welcome Packet

What to expect at camp, safety practices, packing list, and logistics — all in one place.

Welcome to Destination Hope Camp

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s care during their time at Destination Hope Camp. We understand that your child has experienced the loss of a loved one, and we are honored to provide a safe, nurturing environment where they can begin to heal and grow. Our camp is designed to support grieving children through compassionate mentoring, meaningful activities, and the healing power of nature.

Our Mission

Destination Hope Camp provides free, nature-based camp experiences for children grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. Our mission is to create a place where grief meets growth, and where every child feels seen, heard, and supported.

What to Expect

Packing List

Please label all items with your child’s name.

Camp Safety

Your child’s physical and emotional safety is our top priority. All staff and volunteers undergo background checks, child protection training, and grief support education. We maintain a high camper-to-adult ratio and adhere to all camp safety protocols.

Communication During Camp

To preserve the immersive and reflective nature of the camp, we encourage limited communication with campers during their stay. In case of emergency, you may contact the camp director directly. We will provide you with contact numbers and check-in updates as needed.

Medication & Health Info

All medications must be submitted at check-in with clear instructions. Our on-site nurse will oversee medication distribution and handle any minor health concerns. Please ensure your child’s medical form is completed and submitted prior to arrival.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Please be prompt and bring a photo ID for pick-up. Only authorized adults listed on the camper registration form will be permitted to check out your child.
